Dough:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 egg
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk chocolate chips
For the top:
24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
3 teaspoons sugar
In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter and egg. Mix well. Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt until just combined and stiff dough forms. Stir in milk chocolate chips. Press dough into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 baking pan. Sprinkle evenly with 2 teaspoons of sugar. Bake at 350 for 22 to 24 minutes, or until puffed up all over and golden brown. Remove from oven and immediately top with unwrapped Hershey’s Kisses in a 4 rows by 6 rows pattern. Sprinkle with remaining teaspoon of sugar. Cool completely. Cut into squares with only one Hershey’s Kiss in the center of each bar. Store in airtight container.
